EUFAULA, Ala. — Eufuala police confirm another suspect is behind bars connected to the July 2 massive melee that turned shots fired at a Citgo gas station.
Police posted on their Facebook page that 19-year-old Tyre Davonte Lewis of Eufaula was arrested on a Disorderly Conduct warrant for his alleged involvement in the incident.
Investigators now say an additional arrest warrant has been taken out for another man, Alonzo Simmons, for his alleged involvement in the massive brawl.
As News 3 reported, the crowd of more than 100 people was caught on the gas station surveillance footage between the late hours Saturday, July 1 and midnight Sunday. Police say at some point, a fist fight broke out between two people and several crowd members responded by firing around 30 gunshots into and around the crowd. No one was hurt in the shootout.
Anyone with information on Simmon’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Eufaula Police Criminal Investigations Division at 334-687-1200 or the Anonymous Tip Line at 334-687-7100.
