GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) — A Gadsden man has been arrested after allegedly using an electronic device to entice a child for sexual purposes and to send obscene photos.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says in a news release Wednesday 20-year-old Trenton Hamilton faces one count each of electronic solicitation of a child and transmitting obscene material. Entrekin did not release the age of the alleged victim.
The sheriff says the investigation is ongoing and Hamilton could face additional charges.
Entrekin says Hamilton worked as a deputy trainee and has been terminated.
Hamilton is being held in the county Detention Center on $200,000 bond. It was unknown if he’s represented by an attorney.
Entrekin says Hamilton is also barred from using a cellphone or the internet and is prohibited from unsupervised contact with anyone under 18-years-old.
