MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga — The Columbus Fire Department announces Monday an end to the county wide burn ban.
A statement by Fire Marshal Ricky Shores says rainfall amounts over the last few days has been enough to lift the no burning restriction.
Several counties have been under water and burning restrictions for weeks after a lack of rain put Alabama and parts of Georgia in severe drought.
The Alabama burn ban continues as does similar restrictions in neighboring Georgia counties.
