COLUMBUS, Ga. – John C. Evans, Jr., a former psychologist in Columbus made an appearance in recorder’s court on Thursday.

Evans Jr., plead not guilty to charges of aggravated child molestation, child molestation, rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes. He is being held without bond on the rape and aggravated child molestation charges. His case was bound over to superior court.

During the Thursday morning hearing, Lt. Joyce Dent-Fitzpatrick of the Columbus Police Department told the court that while Evans was serving time in a Georgia prison in 2006, a girl came to police saying that she had been sexually assaulted by Evans Jr. from age 9 to 12.

She also told the court that Evans Jr., would walk in on the girl multiple times while she was bathing. She added that the victim was raped at least 50 times by Evans Jr., and also had to pose in lingerie from Victoria’s Secret. Lieutenant Dent-Fitzpatrick told the court that the girl was afraid of Evans Jr., but eventually came out with her story after Evans Jr., was serving time in 2005.

Police acquired warrants for the four charges back in 2006, but since it was a different victim, they had to wait until he served time for the department’s initial investigation of him.
