Two additional suspects 35-year-old Jarvis Duncan and 37-year-old Michael Lee Fair were arrested in Marietta and are still in Cobb County Jail.
Smith says they will be sent back to LaGrange sometime Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
LAGRANGE, Ga — LaGrange police say two men are in jail and at least three more are on the run after a murder on Edgewood Avenue and an armed robbery on Saynor Circle. Police now confirm they believe the cases are related.
A police statement says 35-year-old Jarvis Duncan and 37-year-old Michael Lee Fair, both of Marietta, were arrested Monday afternoon by members of the Marietta and Cobb County Police Departments.
Police say there are also two arrest warrants out for 34-year-old Gerald Jerome Florence of Powder Springs and 35-year-old Lewis Antonio Shells of LaGrange. The release says there was at least one other person involved in the incidents, but they haven’t been identified.
As News 3 reported, a couple in a home on Saynor Circle reported to police several suspects in masks held them at gun point just before midnight Friday. Police say two cars were stolen from the home.
Shortly afterwards, LaGrange police found 32-year-old Darius Tucker dead inside a home in the 100 block of Edgewood Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Tucker’s mother, 49-year-old Adrian Sanders was also injured in the shooting and is recovering in a Columbus hospital.
Police say they now believe the Saynor Circle home was targeted because the suspects thought there was a large amount of illegal drugs and money inside.
