COLUMBUS, Ga — A car stolen from an elderly murder victim’s home has been found by police, CPD Maj. Gil Slouchick confirms Tuesday morning.

According to News 3’s media partner The Ledger-Enquirer, Slouchick declines to release the exact location of where the vehicle was found, but he said it was found abandoned Monday night in Columbus.

Police have not identified any suspects linked to the death of 83-year-old Peggy Gamble, who was found dead by a family member in a home on 8th Street Monday afternoon.

Police say they believe the suspect or suspects fled in Gamble’s beige 1988 Toyota Corolla after her murder.

This case is still under investigation.
