Opelika man arrested over the weekend for Nov 17th burglary of convenience store

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn police arrest Opelika man of burglarizing a convenience store.

41-year-old Jason Woodall was arrested on charges of burglary 2nd degree, theft of property 4th degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to law enforcement.

Police say Thursday, November 17 around 12:30 a.m. officers responded to an alarm at a closed convenience store in the 7300 block of US Highway 280. Once officers arrived on the scene they discovered that someone had forced entry into the business and stole numerous packages of cigarettes, cigars and bottles of liquor.

After an investigation, Woodall was developed as the suspect after video surveillance resulted in Woodall being identified as the individual responsible for burglarizing the convenience store.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.

Woodall was transported to the Lee County Jail where he is being held on a $5,500 bond.
