Tennessee man pleads guilty in deadly crash with Alabama teen

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A Tennessee man who was drunk when he killed a Madison County 19-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

AL.com reports now 20-year-old Christopher Wayne Ross, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, was speeding when he ran a red light and smashed into the driver’s side of Toniette Piccinich’s car on May 29, 2015 in Huntsville. Ross’ blood-alcohol level was reportedly seven times the legal limit at the time of the accident.

The impact of the crash killed Piccinich and propelled her car into the side of another car. The third driver, Teodore Andrew Jervis, was injured.

Ross also pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree assault and leaving the scene of an accident with injury. Sentencing is set for Dec. 5. He faces up to 50 years in prison and $75,000 in fines.
