Millions of dollars raised for nonprofits in Georgia

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Nonprofits raised millions of dollars across the state of Georgia Thursday during the 5th annual Georgia Gives Day.  A number of local nonprofits from the Chattahoochee Valley area participated.

Kelli Parker with the Chattahoochee Valley Community Foundation says Georgia Gives Day grows each year.

“Our mission is to enable and promote philanthropy and so we are cheerleaders for this initiative for Georgia Gives Day.  We really want to be a resource for philanthropy and again just promote philanthropy whatever that means for people,” she said.

The campaign raised more than $3.8 million Thursday.
