OPELIKA, Ala. — Alabama Power announces road blocks in the Opelika area will continue an extra day while crews finish installing new power polls.
A company press release says maintinance on Martin Luther King Boulevard will be extended until Wednesday. Work on South Long Street will continue into Thursday.
As News 3 reported, the power company originally said Martin Luther King Boulevard would be open to traffic on Tuesday after 5 p.m.
South Long Street was originally supposed to be blocked Wednesday also until 5 p.m.
Both streets will only have one lane of traffic open in each direction:

There will be traffic conductors at both locations during the maintenance.
The company warns drivers to slow down and be cautious of the road work.
