First students graduate from CSU’s film program

COLUMBUS, Ga. – 13 Columbus State University students are the first to graduate from CSU’s new film certificate program.  The students graduated Monday at the Springer Opera House.

CSU’s on-set film production certificate program is part of Georgia’s Film Academy.  The course adds up to 18 hours of academic credit.

It introduces students to the film industry with specialized training in on-set film production and procedures.  Graduate Brandy White’s goal is to work in the art or wardrobe department on-set in Atlanta.

“It was amazing.  Just meeting people on set.  Everyone wants you to succeed.  Everyone is there to help you.  Just amazing, amazing people and I feel like these people I will continue to work with them,” Whit explained.

CSU expects 100 students to graduate from the program by the end of next year.  Georgia is the third largest production center in the country with a six billion dollar film industry.
