PCPD releases photos of “vehicle of interest” in drive-by shooting

UPDATE 11/8/16 4:45 p.m.: Phenix City Police Department has released some video surveillance photos of the vehicle leaving the scene of the shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the vehicle is described as a late model Ford Explorer, dark blue in color, gold or brown trim, with a spare driver’s side rear wheel.

Anyone with information regarding this vehicle and the occupants are asked to call the Phenix City Police Department.


UPDATE 11/8/16 2:20 p.m.: Phenix City Police Department received a call of shots fired in the 2500 block of Stadium Drive at a home in Phenix City.

When officers responded they found three gunshot victims and were apparent victims of a drive by shooting. Police say the suspect vehicle was described by witnesses as a blue SUV that was traveling south on Stadium Drive.

Due to the close proximity to Phenix City Intermediate School, the school was placed on lock down until it was determined that the subject vehicle was not in the area. Police say there were no injuries at the school.

All victims have been transported to the hospital and Phenix City police continue to investigate the incident.

PHENIX CITY, Ala. — The Phenix City Board of Education confirms to News 3 that the Phenix City Intermediate School is on lockdown.

A lockdown means that the doors are locked where nobody can enter or leave the building.

The lockdown was put in place for police activity in vicinity of the school.
