It’s November and we have some great outdoor weekend events!
Run or walk a 5K, enjoy fall festivities and smash pumpkins at Harrelson’s Funny Farm Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. edt.
Or smash, drop and play archery with more of your pumpkins from Halloween at Pumpkin Destruction Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rock Ranch.
If you’re more interested in magic and science, head to Oxbow Meadows Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Frogwarts.
This weekend’s highlighted event is the Steeplechase at Callaway Gardens on Saturday.
Eliza Brewer is the 2016 Steeplechase Race Director.
“The steeplechase offers such a fun day to bring your friends and family. There’s so much to do – watching the horse races – it’s an incredible, fun day, but what gets lost I feel like is that we’re doing this for such an important reason and that is to raise money for the arts in our community, which plays such a vital role in our area. So by coming to the Steeplechase you are helping better the Columbus area and our arts organization,” says Brewer.
Funds from the Steeplechase go toward the Columbus Museum, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Historic Columbus Foundation, Ida Cason Callaway Foundation, the Springer Opera House and the RiverCenter for Performing Arts.
