LAGRANGE, Ga — Two men in jail connected to bank robberies in LaGrange and Hogansville will appear before a judge Thursday.
LaGrange Police say Marcus Ward of Atlanta and William Everett of Louisville, Kentucky were taken to Troup County Jail on October 7 — the same day the Commercial Bank and Trust on West Point Road was robbed.
Ward and Everett are also suspects in a robbery at another Commercial Bank and Trust location in Hogansville.
Employees tell police a middle aged black man wearing a black and white striped shirt, dark pants, sunglasses, and a hat came into the banks and asked about opening an account.
Witnesses say the man then took out a gun and forced employees to the floor so he could rob the teller line.
Ward and Everett were arrested during a traffic stop in a car matching the description of one used in the getaway.
Everett is charged with one count of armed robbery, four counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted criminal.
Ward is charged with one count of armed robbery.
