8:50 A.M. (AP) — Henry County police say three people are dead and one person was critically wounded in a shooting in McDonough.
County police Capt. Joey Smith tells local news outlets officers found the victims in the living room and kitchen of the home around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Smith says officers are interviewing witnesses who were inside the house at the time of the shooting, as well as reaching out to others who may know those shot, but were not in the home.
The person in critical condition was taken to hospital by medical helicopter. Police say the victims are both men and women.
Authorities haven’t identified the victims, but said they all knew each other.
HENRY COUNTY, Ga — News 3 learns Thursday morning of a shooting involving several people in Henry County.
WRBL sister station CBS 46 confirms the shooting happened in the 600 block of Moccasin Gap Road, just north of Jackson. The area is mostly rural and 45 miles southeast of Atlanta.
Multiple Atlanta news stations cite the local police saying four people were shot and three are dead. The condition of the fourth person was not confirmed by police.
An exact time for the shooting is not confirmed, but the first Tweets on police presence at the home came in just after 2 a.m.
News 3 and CBS 46 are working to learn the motive for the shooting and any suspects.
