VALLEY, Ala. — The Valley Police Department confirms a woman is dead after her car left the road and hit a concrete barrier Tuesday in front of Valley High School.

Officers say the call came in at 10:30 a.m. about a one car crash on Highway 29. Police say they found the driver, 24-year-old Tiffany Kate Wyrosdick, in front of the school with visible injuries.

A witness tells police Wyrosdick’s car was travelling south on Highway 29. He says she veered across the northbound lanes, left the roadway, and hit the concrete barrier.

Police say Wyrosdick was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center in a Life Saver helicopter.

Surgeons were not able to revive her and she died of her injuries.

Major Mike Reynolds says Valley police do not know what caused the accident.

Wyrosdick’s body will be taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for autopsy.
