CHAMBERS COUNTY, Ala. — Three women are in jail Friday in connection to a September robbery turned deadly on U.S. Highway 431.
Chambers County Sheriff Sid Lockhart says in a press release 22-year-old Tre-shaniq Burley of LaGrange, Georgia, 26-year-old Cortney Simms of Roanoke, Alabama, and 24-year-old Ashley Spidell Murphy of Wedowee, Alabama are all charged in connection to the death of David Heard.
A fourth suspect 21-year-old Cordamione Cameron of Lagrange was arrested September 14.
Heard was found shot to death in his home in 33000 block of US Hwy 431 on September 5.
Investigators tell News 3 they believe the suspects planned the robbery together before Cameron and Burley went to Heard’s home the night of the murder. They say witness statements, phone records and other evidence led to the three additional arrests.
Burley was arrested in LaGrange and remains in Troup County Jail until she can be extradited back to Chambers County.
Simms was arrested at her apartment and Murphy turned herself in, according to investigators. They are both in Chambers County Jail as of Friday morning.
Charges for the four include:
Cordamione Cameron and Tre-shaniq Burley
- Capital Murder
- Robbery 1st Degree
- Burglary 1st Degree
Cortney Simms and Ashley Spidell Murphy
- Conspiracy-Robbery 1st Degree
Burley, Murphy, and Simms have not yet been given court dates.
