COLUMBUS, Ga — A man accused of a deadly weekend stabbing is in custody Wednesday, according to a Columbus police report.
The report says 53-year-old Curtis Porter Jr. was arrested on a murder warrant at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Columbus Public Safety Center.
As News 3 reported, Porter was wanted by police in connection to the death of 39-year-old Antonio Giddens.
Police say Giddens was found stabbed to death at 2330 Schaul St. around 3 a.m. Saturday. The coroner’s office says he appears to have been killed with a weapon similar to an ice pick.
Police have not yet released a motive for the stabbing.
Porter is in Muscogee County Jail and is set to appear in court at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
