Opelika man arrested on drug trafficking charges


AUBURN, Ala. – An Opelika man was arrested for drug trafficking and attempting to flee police Wednesday.

Auburn Police say attempted to pull over a Lincoln Town Car that was speeding on North College Street, but the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on Donahue Drive where the driver fled the scene.

Officers located the driver a short time afterwards and arrested  him. He was identified as 29-year-old Raquay Stinson of Opelika.

Police recovered a total of 6.5 pounds of marijuana and an unknown about of currency from the scene.

Stinson was charged with Drug Trafficking and Fleeing/Attempted to Elude and is being held on a $53,000 bond.
