4 wildfires continue to burn at Ft. Benning

FORT BENNING, Ga. – Nate Snook with the Public Affairs Office says four new wildfires are burning on the installation at Brooks Range, K-11 training area, Patton Range and the Malone Complex.

The K-15 Impact Area does not seem to be actively burning at this, but the area is still generating smoke from smoldering stumps and trees.

Smoke from the wildfires are moving south, but if the wind shifts tonight to the east the smoke could affect Main Post.

Snook says all wildfires are contained to their specific area and are currently being monitored by the Land Management Branch personnel.
