OPELIKA, Al — Opelika police investigate how a 5-year-old boy managed to fall out of a moving car Tuesday afternoon with serious injuries.
Opelika Police Captain Bobby Kilgore says the boy fell out of the car in the parking lot of West Forest Intermediate School at around 5:20 p.m.
Kilgore says the boy was taken to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment before he had to be taken to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta for specialized care.
Police say they do not know the boy’s condition at this time. Kilgore says one of the boy’s parents was on the scene at the time of the accident.
The accident is under investigation.
