Auburn police arrest man accused of fatal hit-and-run

AUBURN, Al — Auburn police confirm a man is in jail and faces charges connected to a deadly hit-and-run accident from last Thursday.

A statement by police says 24-year-old Nicholas Osceola Dean Lawhon stands accused of hitting 28-year-old Felipe Pablo Domingo at Shelton Mill Road near East University Drive on October 6 around 7:50 p.m.

Police also identify Lawhon as the person who left the scene before police arrived.

Domingo was taken to East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance, but unfortunately he was later pronounced dead.

Lawhon was arrested Wednesday morning with a felony warrant charging him with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death.

Police say Domingo was identified with a non-goverment issued ID and they have not managed to find any of his friends or family to notify them of his death.

They now ask for the public’s help to find anyone who knew Felipe Pablo Domingo.
