COLUMBUS, Ga — Police say they are investigating a late night shooting at the intersection of 29th Street and Jones Avenue that left one man hurt.
According to WRBL’s media partner The Ledger-Enquirer, police were called to the corner of 29th Street and Jones Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Monday.
Neighbors in the area reported a fight led to the shooting. One woman called News 3 to say the victim ran into her house for help right after he had been shot.
The man was taken to Columbus Midtown Medical Center where he’s currently in stable condition, Columbus Regional spokeswoman Jessica Word confirms.
Sargent Art Sheldon tells The Ledger the victim told authorities that he didn’t see anything but was somehow shot.
No detailed suspect descriptions were given, Sheldon confirms.
