Georgia vs South Carolina game will be in Columbia on Sunday afternoon

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp says the Gamecocks will play the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. Muschamp announced the decision on his “Carolina Calls” radio show Thursday night. It was later announced that the game will kickoff at 2:30 pm. All tickets previously issued for the Saturday game will be good for admittance on Sunday.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday night at 7:30 pm, but with several states, including S.C., expecting to deal with heavy damage from Hurricane Matthew, the game was put in a holding pattern by university officials.

The Southeastern Conference earlier Thursday postponed the LSU-Florida game in Gainesville, Florida because of Hurricane Matthew. No make-up date has been scheduled for that game.

South Carolina will not have state troopers normally assigned to assist with traffic flow and game-day operations. S.C. Governor Nikki Haley has already announced they will be assisting those areas affected by the storm.
