GBI, FBI join search for missing Cartersville woman

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the FBI have joined the search for a missing Cartersville woman.

Media outlets report that 27-year-old Heather McDonald disappeared on the morning of Sept. 19.

Police say McDonald had been staying with a friend in Acworth before she went missing. The next day, her SUV was found in the parking lot of the Courtesy Inn in Bartow County. The SUV’s doors were open and the keys were on the ground.

McDonald’s ID and cellphone were missing.

The mother of three is described as being 5-feet-2-inches tall, and weighs about 105 pounds. Police said she was wearing a gray and green exercise outfit when she was last seen.

Law enforcement continues to search for McDonald. Her family has organized a search team and is offering a $4,000 reward.
