COLUMBUS, Ga — A local church announces it will hold a “Blessing of the Pets” for anyone who would like to bring their furry family members to the parish.
St. Anne Catholic Church says it’s pastor and vicar will offer a special blessing for each animal and the family who brings the pet. The blessings will be given out in front of the church from 8 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
A press release from the parish says the event is in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures and is customarily celebrated on St. Francis’ Feast Day, Oct. 4.
St. Anne Catholic Church is located at 2000 Kay Circle in Columbus. Parishioners and the general public are invited to attend.
