Local residents without water for hours

PHENIX CITY, Ala. — South Phenix City residents were left without water for half of the day Saturday.

Residents say the water line on Knowles Rd. in South Phenix City burst on Saturday afternoon leaving dozens of residents without water.

David Sanders was one of the many South Phenix City residents affected by the broken water line.

Sanders says he was watching college football Saturday afternoon, when he went to the restroom and realized there was no water.

“As someone that’s a bill payer and tax payer there was no answers for us and there wasn’t an emergency crew there. It just appeared like nothing was going on, but obviously it was,” says Sanders.

Sanders says most of his neighbors experienced the same issues.

The water line broke right across the street from the Canterbury nursing home.

Most South Phenix City residents say their water was turned back on Sunday morning around 6 a.m.
