NAACP has full day of local voter registration events

COLUMBUS, Ga.- The local Columbus chapter of the NAACP has had a full day of voter registration events.

One event took place at The House of Ma’at.

Tonza Thomas, the President of the NAACP says it’s important for people to be involved in our local elections.

Thomas also says with the police shootings across the country now is a time for the African American community to get their voices heard through the polls.

Thomas says they are pushing for stricter police immunity laws.

October 11th is the deadline to apply for voter registration.

The NAACP encourages everyone in the community to register and go vote because they say no vote, no voice.
