COLUMBUS, Ga. – Affordable after school programs have been a hot topic for parents because they’re looking for ways to keep their kids off the streets and out of trouble. The YMCA of Metropolitan Columbus says they’re willing to do everything in their power to protect the youth.
The YMCA has been in Columbus for 150 years.
Their goal is to steer youth in the right direction by exposing them to sports and STEM accelerated programs.
The organization believes idle time is one of the key issues that cause children to get into trouble.
The YMCA also provides their kids with one on one tutoring, computer training, and mentoring programs.
The rates are $40 per week for a single child with a $10 discount for each additional child in the family.
The YMCA says they’re willing to work with families who may be facing financial hardships because their number one priority is keeping kids in a safe environment after school hours.
