11:00 p.m. — Georgia Power says the man killed in Wednesday’s crash on I-185 was one of its employees.
The company releases the following statement:
“We are saddened by the tragic loss of one of our own. The safety and wellbeing of our employees is our top priority and we are working with law enforcement to determine the cause of the accident. We wish to convey our deepest sympathy to family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time.”
6:00 p.m. — The driver of a Georgia Power truck killed in a wreck Wednesday evening on I-185 has been identified as 59-year-old John Duncan from Luthersville, Ga.
State Troopers say it was single vehicle wreck and are working to find out what caused Duncan to crash.
TROUP COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia State Patrol confirms a fatality in a wreck on I-185 just south of mile marker 46 before Upper Big Springs Road.
No details on how the accident happened, but a Georgia Power spokesperson says the accident involves a Georgia Power truck.
