UPATOI, Ga- Folks in Upatoi are getting ready to continue a fun and festive four-decades long tradition this weekend. Upatoi United Methodist Church is preparing for its 42nd annual Bar-B-Que and Fall Festival this Saturday.
The event is the church’s biggest annual fundraiser. Organizers say much of the money raised goes to fund missions.
“We sponsor or send donations to about 12 different local charity groups, and then we try and help people in our community and in our United Methodist Women’s group,” said Martha Noyes, President of the United Methodist Women.
The festival will feature activities for people of all ages, including children. A sweet shop will also be open.
Tickets to the Bar-B-Que are still on-sale. Plates for adults are $8; children’s plates are $4. For more information, you can call the church on Wednesday and Thursday at (706) 561-0433.
Organizers say if you don’t purchase a ticket, you are welcome to drop in on Saturday afternoon and purchase a plate. The Upatoi United Methodist Church Bar-B-Que and Fall Festival runs from 10 am – 3 pm.
