Family plans visitation for former Glenwood School coach

PHENIX CITY, Al — Friends and family of a beloved Smiths Station father, teacher and coach plan to memorialize him Thursday evening.

The family of 55-year-old Flint Sharpe says they are holding a visitation for Sharpe after he was killed in a car accident Monday afternoon. Police say Sharpe was driving southbound on Manchester Expressway when his car suddenly crossed over the median into the northbound lanes.

Sharpe’s car hit a semi-truck and he died at the scene, according to the coroner.

Sharpe’s visitation will be at the Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The funeral will be Friday morning at 11 a.m.
