OPELIKA, Ala- The Korean automotive part manufacturer, Car Tech is coming to Opelika.
They will be investing $44 million in the community for a new plant, and by the end of 2020, that investment will reach $71 million.
In tier one, 45 new jobs will come to the city, and by the end of 2020, it will grow to 200.
Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller said this is a big win for the city. He added that companies are very careful when choosing where to locate, and their location will serve their needs. He added he is proud of the city, and that everything starts with good paying jobs, and this plant continues that.
“It’s another win for Opelika, and it will be good for our community,” Mayor Fuller said. “High paying jobs creates a lot of opportunities for other things whether it be residential development or retail development. It adds to our local economy.”
The plant is slated to go on Fox Run Parkway with construction starting in October. It is slated to be finished in 2017.
