Papers served following Sardis trespassing reports

HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. — New details surface in the Sardis Cemetery vandalization in Harris County.

Scotty Smith brought WRBL the story and he says he’s seen more activity and this time it was in person.

Smith says he saw people riding in a jeep on the Weyerhaeuser property, when he went to check on the grounds.

He says he presented the tag number to Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley and also possible ID’s.

When Reporter Ashley Garrett met with Jolley, he said what he planned to do with that information.

“So I have two deputies who’s gonna get those two people further identified and we’re gonna get them in here and talk to them about what they did and see if it can be further developed into a crime,” says Jolley.

Scotty Smith later appeared on News 3 This Morning to give us an exclusive interview.

Among other things, he brought an update about a new gate being put in place.

He also says he’s been getting negative treatment from the Harris County community.
