TROUP COUNTY, Ga — The Troup County School System says two schools are on a “soft lockdown” after a student’s post on social media.
A representative with the public relations office says a “soft lockdown” means classes are going on as normal, but the outside doors are locked.
She says the school system takes all threats seriously and put both Callaway Middle and Callaway Elementary School on alert just as a precaution.
She also says anyone concerned that this incident is related to treats by “creepy clown” Facebook pages should know the posts are a hoax. The Troup County School System says it is working with police to find the people responsible.
