ATLANTA, Ga — Police say twin toddlers are safe after their father’s car was stolen from a gas station in Atlanta.
News 3’s sister station CBS 46 says the girls were asleep in the backseat of their father’s Toyota Camry when it was stolen from a gas station Saturday night. The father says he left the girls in the running car so he could go inside the gas station and check why his credit card wasn’t working at the pump.
The girls were later found a quarter of a mile away after the car was abandoned in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The children were unharmed.
Police say one twin was in her car seat in the backseat. The other was outside the car in her car seat.
Police say the girls appeared to have slept through the entire incident.
They are still searching for a suspect.
