3 hurt during Labor Day shooting on 7th Street

COLUMBUS, Ga — Columbus police say they are investigating a shooting at the intersection of Brown Avenue and 7th Street that put three people in the hospital.

Witnesses tell News 3 they heard shots at around 1:15 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police say it looks like the shooting started out as an argument between two groups of people.

They say the argument escalated when a few of the people started shooting at each other and three of them were injured.

The victims were taken to Midtown Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say two homes were also damaged by the shooting. Officers will continue to investigate.
