COLUMBUS, Ga. – Auburn High School and Northside High School picked up wins in their season opening games on Thursday night as the high school football season kicked off in both Alabama and Georgia.
Auburn led Carver-Montgomery 3-0 at the half, but found themselves down 14-10 with two minutes remaining in regulation. The Tigers ran a double-reverse toss-back to quarterback Brooks Fuller, who then connected with running back Garrett Morris in the endzone for the game-winning touchdown. Auburn held on for the 17-14 win.
Northside jumped out in front of Kendrick 16-0 before halftime and cruised to a 25-7 win over the Cherokees at Kinnett Stadium.
