UPDATE 08/15/16 4:45 PM: The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says that a fourth victim has died from a weekend crash in Russell County.
18-year-old Desmond James of Phenix City was pronounced dead at Columbus Midtown Medical Center.
James was the passenger in the Toyota.
RUSSELL COUNTY, Ala. – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has identified two of three victims in a fiery car crash that happened Saturday morning in Russell County. Officials say 33-year-old Travis Davis from Columbus, and 19-year-old Deontaye Caple from Phenix City died while riding along Alabama Highway 26 at mile marker two. Officials add that Davis was killed while riding in a Ford F-150. The Ford collided with a Toyota Avalon and caught fire.
Davis went to Midtown Medical Center, where he later died. Officials pronounced Caple, the driver of the Toyota, dead at the scene. Another passenger in the Ford died on scene as well.
The driver of the Ford went to the hospital with serious injuries. His name was not given. Officials say none of the people who died were wearing seat belts.
