Two men shot in Phenix City as police look for suspects, motive

PHENIX CITY, Ala. – Phenix City Police are looking for the gunman responsible for shooting and hurting two people Friday night. Police say it happened around 10:30 EDT at the intersection of 11th St. and Ingersol Dr.

They tell News 3 a white Nissan Altima pulled up behind a vehicle, opening fire. Police say Jakeithan Menefee and Gavin Smith were both shot. Menefee, 22, and Smith, 23 went to Midtown Medical Center for treatment.

Police do not yet have a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information should call Phenix City Police at 334-448-2837.
