ALEA finds $156,000 in marijuana plants on Elmore Co. home

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. – Alabama State troopers say an Elmore County man faces drug trafficking charges, after officials found nearly 80 marijuana plants at his home.

David Sherrod from Milbrook, Ala. was arrested Friday after Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Aviation spotted a plant near his home. Officials say they found about 78 similar plants at the home. The drugs are estimated to be worth about $156,000.

Sherrod is currently in Elmore County Jail. His mug shot has not yet been processed. He is awaiting bond.
