Hundreds of students receive school supplies

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Hundreds of local students will be starting the school year with new school supplies.  Hundreds of families came to the Columbus Public Library on Macon Road to pick up bags filled with school supplies.

Davis Broadcasting partnered with Chattahoochee Valley Libraries and other sponsors for the “Tools 4 School Supply Giveaway”.  Kevin Cobb and his two children are taking advantage of the giveaway.

“It’s one less expense we have to come out for.  It actually helps us out and to be able to get the kids right on into school instead of having to worry about the rush or trying to go and get supplies for them,” Cobb said,

“Tools 4 School” had close to 700 bags to give away.  They were supposed to show the Jurassic Park movie on the library’s lawn afterwards, but that has been postponed until September 23rd.
