COLUMBUS, Ga. – A Columbus man faces several charges after police say they found nearly $50,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana on him. Police are also charging Fernando Brown with felony drug and gang charges, among others. Police first tracked Brown, 23, during a drug investigation on 24th St. and 5th Ave.
According to our media partners the Ledger-Enquirer, one officer told a judge yesterday that Brown tried to run away from them. Police found more than 400g of cocaine, 32g of marijuana, a scale, two weapons (one stolen), and about $3,000 in cash.
Brown is currently in the Muscogee County Jail on $74,300 bond. He faces possession and use of drug related objects, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft by receiving stolen property in another state; selling, manufacturing any controlled substance with the intent to distribute, trafficking in cocaine, vioaltion of probation; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and sound levels of devices and sound sources.
