Troup County readies for Tuesday runoff

LaGRANGE, Ga —  The Board of Elections in Troup County is getting ready for runoff races on Tuesday.

Early indications point to more interest in this runoff than usual. As of Thursday morning, 947 voters had cast an early ballot.

Troup County voters will decide who will face a Democratic candidate for the U.S. House District 3 seat in Tuesday’s Runoff.

Drew Ferguson and Mike Crane will square off to fill the U.S. House District 3 seat being vacated by Lynn Westmoreland.  The winner of the runoff will take on Democrat Angela Pendley in November.

There’s also a runoff between Catherine Sargent Hunt and John Asbell for the District 5 School Board seat.

Early voting continues at the government building in downtown LaGrange through 5 pm today.  If you’re not able to make it out before that deadline, you’ll need to plan to vote in the election on Tuesdsay.
