Ormand Drive house fire being investigated as arson

UPDATE: Ricky Shores with Columbus Fire tells News 3 that the house fire is being investigated as arson.

The house was not known to be occupied at the time of the fire with an estimated $20,000 worth in damage.

The damage was primarily in the hallway with significant damage to the attic.


COLUMBUS, Ga — Firefighters are working to put out a house fire in the 3000 block of Ormand Drive.

Fire crews say they were called to the scene just after 6:30 a.m.

News 3’s reporter on the scene says he could see a huge amount of smoke coming from the roof.

So far, there are no injures reported. Fire crews say they will investigate the cause of the fire.
