COLUMBUS, Ga. — Early voting for the July 26th runoff election in Muscogee County is now underway. Only voters living in School Board Districts 1 and 7 can vote in the school board runoff.
Those living in the U.S. House District 3 that voted republican in the May primary or did not vote in the primary can vote in the congressional race. Elections technician Jeanette James says early voting is a convenience for voters.
“They don’t have to wait until that Tuesday of voting and they can always come here or we used to have two or three places that were open, but it’s more convenient for people to be able to vote three weeks before the actual voting day,” James said.
According to the Muscogee County Elections Office, 107 folks voted Tuesday and 68 came out to vote today.
The only place to vote early is in the community room at the Citizens Service Center through July 22nd. Early voting will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
