LAGRANGE, Ga. – Crews are starting to clear the land where the Great Wolf Lodge will be built in LaGrange.
It will be at the intersection of Pegasus Parkway and Whitesville Road. According to the Mayor Jim Thornton, this is going to be a new road to help people access what will become a regional attraction. A $170 million dollar water park.
This would mean hundreds of new jobs and 500,000 visitors annually.
“If you go down to the site, there is some dirt being moved. That is for a new road that will service the facility. The company itself will probably start moving dirt in the next month or so, sometime later this month. But we’re very excited about it. It’s an 18-month project,” said Mayor Thornton.
Thornton expects construction to be completed by the spring or summer of 2018. Great Wolf Lodge is the world’s largest operator of indoor water parks. It will be located off of Interstate 85 at the Whitesville Road exit 13.
