COLUMBUS, Ga. – Thousands of people from the valley packed a local arena for a weekend convention of faith.
Columbus Civic Center is the site for the annual Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention and expect over 9000 people to be in attendance over the next two weekends.
The theme for this year’s convention is “Remain Loyal to Jehovah.” Which emphasizes the importance of lifestyle and relationships with friends, family and Jehovah God.
“Well, we will be examining how Jesus set a perfect example of being loyal to his father Jehovah and by us imitating his example we can have better family life, better relationships with our marriage mates and our children,” said William Goodman.
The convention is free and open to the public. The group says Jehovah’s Witnesses are conducting over 400 conventions in 31 languages across the nation.
The convention is this weekend and next weekend. There will be speakers from north Florida and Alabama who will elaborate on the Bible based programs.
Worldwide, there are over 8 million witnesses in more than 115,000 congregations.
