COLUMBUS, Ga. – A special thanks to everyone who came out and donated in the Firecracker 100 blood drive WRBL sponsored the past two days. 37 donors gave blood Thursday and 42 donors gave blood Friday adding up to a total of 79 donors.
Two of those donors include Bob English and his 16-year-old son. English has an insurance firm and says he sees the impact that accidents have on his clients.
“I see all the accidents, hear about them and have a lot of my clients that have needed blood and I’ve been giving since I was his age. It’s healthy. It’s good for you and good for our bodies and certainly to help people out,” English said.
This is English’s teenage son, Mack’s, first time donating blood. Donations from the Firecracker 100 will go to the Red Cross.
