NEWNAN, Ga — Police say several people have been injured in an aluminum plant explosion Wednesday morning.
Investigators say the accident happened just after 9:15 a.m. at the Bonnell Aluminum Extrusion Company. They say one person was taken to Atlanta Medical Center by helicopter, two were taken to the hospital by ambulance and two were treated at the scene.
Bonnell representatives say it is too early to tell the cause of the explosion but the plant has shut down operations while they investigate.
